Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about the made-to-order fish and chips, highlighting the freshness and quality of the catch. The light, crispy batter is often mentioned as a standout feature, ensuring every bite is enjoyable. Many diners also appreciate the generous portion sizes, delivering excellent value for money in a quaint setting. The friendly service enhances the experience, as the staff is known for their warmth and willingness to engage with patrons. For those looking for something a bit different, haggis chips and gravy is a surprising delight that garners positive reviews. The kids’ menu also makes this an ideal spot for families, offering tasty options at reasonable prices.

Most Disliked

While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some diners note the cash-only policy as a downside. This could be inconvenient for visitors who prefer electronic payments. A few patrons desire more variety in the vegetarian menu, although the options available are well-loved. Parking can also be a bit of a challenge during peak times, especially on weekends, so phone ahead if you're driving. Additionally, while the takeout options are great, some customers wish for more comfortable seating for those dining in, as the space can fill up quickly during busy hours.

Lovely fish and chips. Made to order, super fresh. Honestly the best fish and chips me (UK) and my wife (USA) had in the past half a decade. We’re always on the hunt for the best and this is right up there. Kind friendly staff too just a sweet quaint spot.

What a great find for the best fish and chips in Morecambe. Table service was so friendly and the food all cooked fresh. Amazing value for money too. Hearing the staff talking with customers, you could tell there were lots of locals …. Always a good sign.

Was told this was the best chippy in Morecambe and don’t see how it could have been better. Big portions at very reasonable prices with no soggy chips or thick greasy batter. My son had the mini fish and chips for £5.00 and we had chip butties for £3.80 each. Will definitely be back 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

First time being at The Bay, dad took fish and chips, I took haggis chips & peas and a tub of gravy. Great helping and freshly made to order. Quality of the food was excellent. Lot's in for take away and by the sounds of the chit chat with the woman frying they must be locals. Nice gesture with giving away fresh fruit from their garden, i took some nice plums and rhubarb.

Very friendly lady and helper, tried very hard to please the customers. We are on a pension, so prices are important; Also we don't have a large appetite these days, so mini fish and chips to eat in the car looking out over the bay was great. The portions of fish were both perfect, also the batter was nice and crispy with just the right amount; could possibly have managed with slightly less chips, but we both finished them all anyway. Not far to walk back to the sea front either. Would definitely recommend.

Fab little chippy in Morecombe. We visited whilst on holiday, the kids didn't want to eat chips by the sea because of the seagulls to we opted to sit in at the Bay Cafe. The staff were so helpful and kind, brill with the kids. Portion sizes were great, kids meals were huge. My son had the fish and said it was the best fish he'd ever had. Peas were lovely. I'd highly recommend the Bay Cafe and we will certainly be back when we're ever in the area
